Jan 25, 2008 · Alpine uses musl for its libc, so it won't be binary compatible with any of the mainstream package managers (which all use glibc). As far as reusing an existing build-from-source pkg manager, the "build recipes" would still be different in many cases because different compilation flags/the odd patch/etc may need to be used for musl.
